Christmas has a whole new meaning these days. I get more excited about this day each year as the kids get older. Brynlee is finally old enough to grasp the concept that this day is not just for her and brother to open up gifts they asked Santa for, that this is Jesus’ birthday. It makes my heart happy to watch her relationship with Christ grow each day. It’s these moments that I feel like I have done something right with this parenting gig. This year Braxton will be able to open his own gifts and I can’t wait to see if he will be the kind of kid who takes his time opening them or if he will turn into the hulk and tear into the presents (my money is on the hulk).
My favorite part of this Holiday, besides watching my kids rip into their presents, is family time! Spending time with my grandmothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins is truly a joy and something I could never take for granted. The memories we make each year is a true treasure.
Since this is a fashion blog, I do want to have a little something about the outfits I love to wear during this time. On Christmas Eve, I do like to jazz it up a bit. I never wear a fancy dress or skirt with some high heels, because let’s be real with two kids under the age of 4 I have to be ready for anything. Changing a blow out with a one year old who turns into a gymnast while I am wiping him down is NO easy task. I would more than likely end up with my outfit stained with, well… poop. So this year I opted for a gray dress with my favorite cardigan and boots. I can still move around like a mad woman while I try to keep the kids from destroying presents before it is time to open them.
I personally want to wish each and every single one of you a very Merry Christmas. May you and your family make many wonderful memories. My wish for everyone is that while we open our gifts, we remember the true meaning of Christmas. That our wonderful savior was born to live and die for our sins. May we cherish our Salvation.
